Quest Diagnostics- Industry Freezer Expansion |

An existing space was renovated for the addition of 80 Industry Freezers. Forty-four (44) Freezers were installed. Project scope includes an independent electrical power supply from the existing Main Switch Gear to the new Freezer Storage Room, Generator Set as stand-by power source, new independent A/C units for the Freezer Storage Room and a Liebert system for the Freezers. Project also included a new fire rated corridor and ADA upgrade of the Toilet Rooms. YAE was the Mechanical and Electrical Engineers for the project. Description of mechanical systems: Mechanical and plumbing systems are brand new to replace the existing systems. New rooftop Air-Conditioning units serve the new Freezer Storage Room through the new overhead air distribution systems, a Liebert system was provided to remove the heat generated by the Freezers. Description of electrical system: A new feeder, 277/480 volt, from the existing Main Switch Gear in a remote building to the new Freezer Storage Room for the new Freezers, Air-Conditioning units and lighting in the area. A new step-down transformer generates 120/208 volt power for the general requirement in the area. A new generator set located outside the Freezer Storage Room provide the back-up power for the new Freezer Room. Photo on top: Arrays of Freezers.
